Yessss!

I am back from the lake. The weekend was better than usual, but that might be because P. got a present and we had guests.
The socks were finished and the ends woven in by Friday evening, wrapped and presented on Saturday not long after I arrived. He wasn't jumping up and down of course nor did he ohh-ed and ahh-d, but he did say thank you and that they are "nice". He even put them on so I can make a few pictures:

Now, let's see if the whole thing works.

LOVE THE SOCKS!!! WHAT MATERIAL ARE YOU USING?

That was 80% wool and 20% Nylon (for strength). Slightly thicker than the usual sock yarn.

cool. i may have a challenge for you :-) i can never have enough hiking socks for cool/cold/wet weather. HL knows i'm going to buy at least one more pair as i wear them and my heavy wool socks frequently. also will be getting another pair of hiking boots this fall. i'll get requirements for you if you're up to it ;-)

Those are beautiful! It's amazing that you made them yourself.. I could never! I love the pattern design you chose. I'm a sucker for pretty socks. :)
