Spinning...

Its not weekly spinning any longer, nor it is a weekly post... not even a monthly... Every time I decide to post more regurarly something happens... This time Chris broke his leg badly, and needed surgery... Those who are my FB friend could more or less follow the story, I think here it should be enough, that it caused a tremendous stress for me (and of course for my boy as well, but that is another story)
I say that knitting keeps me sane, and if I couldn't knit I would be surely the resident of a funnyhouse, still whenever real hard stress hits me, I freeze, and unable to knit. Let's not talk about the trainride from the university (where I got the phonecall) to Budapest (where my son was taken to a hospital and was waiting for surgery), or the hours I spent sittin on the hospital stairs waiting for the surgery to end. But all those hours sitting beside his hospital bed, or later in my bed where he would not let me out of the room...I tried, believe me, I tried knitting. I tried complicated stuff, I tried simple stuff, but even knit and purl needed more concntration than I could muster...
So what I did was dusting my darling Kate (the wheel) and taking out some fibers. I started with plying up some singles that were resting there for months now, then spinning up the almost 400 gramms of Falkland wool I dyed a couple of years ago... I wanted to knit a spring cardigan, so I spun it somewhat thicker than my usual stuff also a bit more rustic...
It is 900 meters, just the amount needed to knit the Leaflet cardigan it was originally intended for, but... but... My hair color is changing, as I decided to let my silver hair grow out (hmm a topic for another post) and what would have gone well with my red hair, really not sure it would suit my silvers now...
So I have no idea what will happen to it, maybe I will knit it after all, maybe I will sell it, maybe I will give it to someone... All I know spinning it tided me over tha I-can't-knit period (as spinning did not the first time).
